dgp-smiling-women.gifThe 3 1/2 hours Babushkas and Hard Hats Tour is a magical mix of immigrants and industry that provides groups with interactive taste and touch experiences.  There are hands-on demonstrations with modern steelworker's clothing and a blast furnace model that involve and entertain your group while sharing the story of steelmaking in a fun and innovative way.  Groups get a great "taste" of Pittsburgh when they sample southwestern Pennsylvania's fabled Cookie Table, one of the region's sweetest traditions.  Stops include the West End Overlook to discuss and see the elements that made Pittsburgh the Steel Making Capital of the World; The Bost Building, a National Historic Landmark, that was involved in one of the most dramatic labor struggles in American labor history - the 1892 Battle of Homestead; and the Pump House and Water Tower, site of the 1892 conflict and the only brick structure remaining from the legendary United States Steel's Homestead Works. Cap off this great tour with an ethnic lunch at the Bulgarian Macedonian Club.
